Tuesday, November 3rd, 2009Could the next GTA be set in London?
Tuesday, November 3rd, 2009
In the original Grand Theft Auto we committed murder in Liberty City, sold stolen property in Vice City, went on a rampage in San Andreas and reducing 1969 British gangsters to browb bread in the streets of London. All these places we’ve revisited in later GTA games apart from London, but that could be about to change.
In the 13th page of the Episodes from Liberty City’s manual is an image that was a possible clue to the next GTA games location. (more…)

Gabe Newell Q&A
Wednesday, October 14th, 2009Valve not exploting small developers according to Tripwire Interactive and Garry
Wednesday, October 14th, 2009
Last week Randy Pitchford said in an interview that he belivied that Valve exploits small developers through the massively popular online idstrabustion service Steam.
This week, John Gibson of Tripwire interactive, the developers of Killing Floor, has written and article of Gamasutra saying the complete opposite.
I can say with certainty that if it weren’t for Steam, there would be no Tripwire Interactive right now, Ask the Tripwire Interactive employees if they feel exploited, as they move into their new offices paid for by the money the company has made on Steam. Or me, as I drive away from the company that was built from the royalties we made on Steam, in my sports car paid for by the royalties we make on Steam, to the home that I pay for with the royalties we make on Steam.
John isn’t the first developer to speak out against the feeling of Gearbox’s CEO, last week Garry’s Mod creator, Garry Newman said on his blog that:
I am more than happy with the cut I get from Steam. Yeah of course more would be nice – but the cut isn’t anywhere near that low that it would turn me off selling through Steam. Maybe I’m a special case because GMod has sold so well – but I know that Introversion nearly went under until they got on Steam

Alienware Arena Left 4 Dead champion Caught Cheating
Wednesday, October 14th, 2009
A player by the name of MyTime from the winning team in the Alienware Arena Left 4 Dead Tournament has been found to have cheated in the tournament, because of this team Rest in Peace has been disqualified from the tournament, and the other team have been moved up once place on the scoreboards.
I appears that after some members of the community believed there had been fowl play in the tournament, the organisers looked into the logs and found MyTime had cheated.
Wayne Ferguson of iGamers, had said:
It is disappointing when anyone attempts to cheat in a contest; however it is an inevitable reality that we as a competitive community will always need to face on occasion. Our best means of defence to keep events fun and fair is to work together, as in this case, to enact every possible means of ridding these individuals from our community. Thank you again for your contributions to this effort.
R.I.P Meister, a member of team Rest in Peace also added that:
On behalf of the Rest in Peace team I would like to make a sincere apology to the community regarding the actions of MyTime, a player recruited for our competitive Left 4 Dead team. Conclusive evidence has been provided by Alienware that leaves no dispute that MyTime was utilizing cheats during the Alienware tournament. No RIP player had any knowledge that MyTime was utilizing cheats and his motivations for doing so are unclear to us as we had played often with him and had no reason to believe he would utilize cheats.

Dragon Age: Character Creator released.
Tuesday, October 13th, 2009
If you cant wait for Bioware’s high fantasy RPG, Dragon Age: Origins, to hit store shelves next month, you can head over to your favourite download site, and download the character creator. The creator lets you design a character, including everything from the name and hair style, to the class and race. Once done you can save your creation of further editing later, or importing into the game at a later date.
The surname is unchangeable and is set by your characters race/origin. This could mean that your character will be refered to by their surname in cutscenes like in Biowares previous RPG, Mass Effect, or it could mean that your characters Surname and origin are going to play a big part in the story.
Overall I’m a little disappointed that with most of the character selections you only have the choice of two character origins, and if you choose to be a human warrior or rouge, you only have the choice of being from a noble family. But I guess they cant do everything.
If you want to give creating your own hero a go you can download it here:
