Updated: Black Mesa does not tie Portal to the orginal Half-Life

[Update] I just wanted to say that this was just a theory that looked sound to me so I reposted it here.    It now looks like this theory is completely and utterly wrong and that I am some kind of idiot for believing in it.

Because of my mistake there is already a campaign running at Black Mesa HQ for me to ’simmer in my own crapola’.  I can only hope that others will learn from my mistakes and ask the Black Mesa guys first before posting.

I am truly sorry.

   God dont you guys remember anything in Half Life episode 2? Like the video at the borialis with the APERTURE SCIENCE cargo being lowered onto it maybe? sheesh.

   Of course thered be no cannon when the original was done 11 years ago and yes ive played through 1 many times, Hell portal wasnt even in conception. Valve made some adjustments during ep 2 tp fit in Aperture Science. But if BMS wants to make nods then by all means. Hope ValVe buys it and puts it in the next BOX.

   I am a constant lurker and a member of the Black Mesa forums, and I’d just like to point out incase the retraction wasn’t obvious enough for some people, Black Mesa will make NOT include any overt references to anything portal, OR any of the GearBox HL expansions such as Opposing force or Blue Shift since they are not canon. They will NOT attempt to create any tie-ins to Half-Life 2 that were not included in Half-Life 1, other than making a specific model for Eli and Kliener. While there will be some minor differences between the original Half-Life and Black Mesa, they are only to improve gameplay and have no effect on official canon whatsovever.

   I would incourage anyone that wants to know more about Black Mesa to Read the FAQs page that is stickied at the top of their Black Mesa Cafeteria section of the forums. Articles and Rumors such as this one could have easily been prevented or dispelled by researching the information on the official page.

   The reason the foot springs were added to the Black ops assassin was to help explain some of the awesome acrobatic stunts that she can do. The springs were not only on portal’s chell but on Eli, and on the combine assassin that was cut from Half-Life2.
